Terrifying footage has surfaced of a tornado tearing through a golf course designed by Hall of Fame golfer Tiger Woods and his team. The “insane” tornado struck the midwestern United States on May 13th, causing panic as it approached Payne’s Valley golf course.
In one clip, lasting 19 seconds, the tornado is seen just a few hundred yards from the first tee, prompting voices urging people to seek shelter. Another clip, lasting two minutes and 27 seconds, captures golfers hurriedly seeking cover and securing equipment.
This is absolutely insane.
A tornado hit Payne’s Valley golf course. (Tiger Woods design at Big Cedar in Missouri.)
You staying in your golf cart to record this video?
Honestly, I probably would. Too insane to miss.

Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries from the area, and the course itself appears to have survived unscathed. Payne’s Valley, opened by Woods and his TGR Design team in 2020, is known for its memorable golf holes, including the par-3 19th, aptly named “The Rock,” which features a hole cut into a mountain on an island green.

Measuring as long as 7,370 yards from the tips, Payne’s Valley joins a prestigious list of courses designed by Woods’ team, including Bluejack National, El Cardonal at Diamante, and Jack’s Bay.
Woods’ latest project is a challenging golf course nestled in the Utah mountains. TGR Design has also created layouts for practice facilities at Jupiter Golf Club in Florida, near Woods’ home, where he resides with his teenage children Charlie and Samantha.
Currently competing in the 2024 US PGA Championship in Louisville, Kentucky, Woods, with his radical new look, aims to secure his 16th major title and inch closer to Jack Nicklaus’ record total.
