Amidst the fast-paced Asian tennis swing, Jannik Sinner and Anna Kalinskaya have found themselves at the center of swirling marriage rumors. The two tennis stars, who have been spotted together on several occasions, have sparked speculation that they might have secretly tied the knot. However, both Sinner and Kalinskaya have publicly addressed and denied these claims.
Jannik Sinner, currently the World No. 1 in the ATP rankings, has had an outstanding 2024 season, winning two Grand Slam titles, including a recent victory at the US Open—his first-ever title at Flushing Meadows. Despite his remarkable achievements on the court, the media focus has shifted to his personal life, with rumors about his supposed marriage gaining more attention than his on-court performances.
Adding to the recent controversies surrounding the 23-year-old, Sinner was embroiled in a doping allegation earlier this year. Thankfully, he was fully cleared of any wrongdoing, and his focus has since returned to his tennis career. Yet, the latest rumor about his alleged marriage has required further clarification. Speaking during an appearance in Shanghai, Sinner lightheartedly dismissed the speculation, expressing surprise at the reports.
“It was new also for me, to be honest. No, I didn’t ask, and nothing, nothing happened. I just read the details a little bit that it happened after the US Open, but it’s all false, false news. Thank you,” Sinner remarked, clarifying that there was no truth to the story.
Similarly, Anna Kalinskaya took to social media to dispel the rumors. Through an Instagram story, the Russian tennis star cheekily acknowledged the congratulatory messages she had received, but made it clear that she and Sinner were not married. Kalinskaya expressed gratitude for the well-wishes but labeled the reports as inaccurate, adding a humorous “false start” to her post.
“To clarify things about fake rumors: this is not true. Thank you for all your congratulations. False start,” Kalinskaya wrote on Instagram, quelling the speculation.
Both Sinner and Kalinskaya are currently competing in the Chinese leg of the tennis season. Sinner enters the Shanghai Masters as the top seed, while Kalinskaya is competing at the Wuhan Open.
The relationship between Sinner and Kalinskaya first came to light earlier this year. The pair began dating in 2024 but initially chose to keep their relationship private. It wasn’t until the French Open that Sinner publicly confirmed their romance, though he was careful to maintain his usual discretion about his personal life.
“I’m with Anna [Kalinskaya], yes, but we keep everything very confidential, you know my confidentiality… I won’t say more,” Sinner explained when asked about his relationship during the tournament.
Since then, the couple has become a more visible presence in each other’s professional lives, with Kalinskaya frequently seen supporting Sinner from his player’s box. She notably attended his US Open triumph, where the two shared a celebratory embrace and kiss after Sinner’s title win. Kalinskaya has also been present during Sinner’s matches in the China Open, continuing to cheer him on as they navigate their respective tennis seasons.
Despite the off-court drama, both players are focused on their upcoming challenges. Sinner remains a dominant force on the ATP circuit, while Kalinskaya looks to continue her competitive journey in the WTA, determined to make her mark on the courts.
