Daniel Brown’s Remarkable Week at the 2024 Open Championship with His Brother Ben
Daniel Brown had an impressive performance at the 2024 Open Championship, finishing in a tie for tenth place. A key part of his successful debut at the Royal Troon was the support of his younger brother, Ben Brown, who served as his caddie.
Despite his own aspirations to qualify for the season’s final major, Ben put those aside to assist his brother. His efforts did not go unnoticed, with Daniel praising Ben’s contributions during a post-round interview with ASAP Sports.
“Yeah, amazing,” Daniel said. “He’s getting a nice little payday. Not too bad for a 19-year-old lad.”
Earlier in the week, Daniel highlighted how Ben’s knowledge of AimPoint, a green-reading method, was invaluable. “He knows AimPoint,” Daniel explained on Thursday. “I was struggling on the last few holes to read the slopes and stuff on the greens. Thankfully, he knows AimPoint, so I trusted him for the last two or three holes.”
Ben’s caddying skills were complemented by his own golfing accomplishments. He won the English Amateur last year, a victory that mirrored Daniel’s win in the same event seven years earlier. Ben’s dual role as a supportive brother and skilled golfer undoubtedly played a significant role in Daniel’s memorable week at the Open Championship
