Xander Schauffele, a prominent PGA Tour star, has been one of the best golfers in the world for several years. Supporting him both on and off the course is his wife, Maya Lowe. The couple married in Las Vegas a week after the 2021 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines.
Xander and Maya met in 2014 while they were both students. Xander was attending San Diego State University, where he graduated with a degree in social sciences. Maya studied science and public health at the University of California and later earned a Master’s degree in healthcare administration. Since 2015, she has worked for Planned Parenthood, according to her LinkedIn page.
The couple has two dogs, who even attended their wedding dressed for the occasion. As of now, Xander and Maya do not have any children, and Xander has not publicly discussed any plans to become parents.
Xander tends to keep his private life out of the spotlight and rarely discusses Maya in interviews. However, he did share a humorous story about how he learned of the big PGA Tour-LIV Golf ‘merger’ on June 6, 2023. “My wife woke me up,” Xander recounted before the Scottish Open. “I was laying in bed with my French bulldog. We were having a nice little canoodling session, and yeah, my wife woke me up in a pitch black room and informed me of the news. I don’t know who looked worse, me or my little guy. I asked my wife to tell me where the news was coming from, what source it was. It was so early. I just remember laying there and I wanted to go back to bed, and then I was kind of like laying there, one eye open then my phone just started going off.”
Since joining the PGA Tour in 2017, Xander has amassed $51,677,483 in official earnings. He claimed his first major title at the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla, with Maya there to congratulate him.
