LIV Golf has announced the appointment of Ilana Finley as their new Chief Communications Officer. The former Nike executive will be responsible for overseeing all global communications for the breakaway golf league, including managing both internal and external communications for the League, its 13 teams, and The International Series.
Finley brings a wealth of experience from her 18 years at Nike, followed by a tenure as Vice President of Global Communications and Social Impact at Converse. Her broad expertise in brand development and communications will be crucial as LIV Golf continues to expand its global presence.
Greg Norman, the commissioner of LIV Golf, praised Finley’s background and abilities, stating, “She knows first-hand the challenges and opportunities that exist when growing a global brand, and she understands how to align competition, culture, and entertainment to deliver a product that fans embrace. Ilana is a skilled leader and communicator with a sincere passion for positively impacting teams and communities around the world, and LIV Golf is proud to have her on board.”
Finley expressed her enthusiasm for joining LIV Golf, saying, “Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to drive impactful storytelling with global brands that are committed to building connections with diverse audiences by thinking boldly and being unafraid to take chances. LIV Golf is doing just that. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I’m thrilled to help champion the League’s commitment to innovation, creativity, and teamwork while making a positive impact around the world.”
Finley is the latest high-profile addition to LIV Golf’s growing team. Earlier in the month, the organization appointed general managers for five of their teams. These include Nick Adams, formerly Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at WME/IMG, who has joined Cameron Smith’s team, Ripper. Richard Glover, previously the Chief Executive of Tennis South Africa and current ATP Tour Vice President, will take charge of Louis Oosthuizen’s Stinger team.
Jonas Mårtensson, former CEO of Minecraft, will lead Cleeks, while esports expert Martin Kim has been appointed General Manager for Kevin Na’s team, Iron Heads.
These recent appointments reflect LIV Golf’s ongoing efforts to build a world-class team as they strive to disrupt the professional golf landscape and attract a new generation of fans.
