Tyson Fury accuses Oleksandr Usyk’s manager of making slur towards his wife Paris

Posted on February 5, 2024

Tyson Fury recently accused Oleksandr Usyk’s manager, Egis Klimas, of using a derogatory term to describe his wife, Paris. This controversy unfolded after Fury withdrew from his scheduled undisputed world title fight against Usyk due to a cut sustained in sparring.

Fury, upset by Klimas’ remarks, retaliated during an interview on The MMA Hour, stating, “Egis, never call me a coward again. I’ve had 35 professional fights, climbed off the canvas 10 times, and never backed down from any man in my life.”

Klimas denied making any derogatory comments about Fury’s wife, asserting, “I didn’t call your wife a b****; I don’t do that s***.” In response, Fury apologized, admitting he misunderstood Klimas’ remarks.

The verbal sparring continued as Fury questioned Klimas’ right to label him a coward, highlighting his extensive boxing career and accomplishments. Despite this exchange, Saudi Arabia swiftly rescheduled the bout for May 18 in Riyadh after the cancellation of the initial February 17 event.

Fury explained the circumstances behind his withdrawal, revealing he suffered an accidental cut above his right eye during sparring, requiring 11 stitches. Despite the setback, both fighters are now geared up for their rescheduled clash in May.
